Our New President Barack Obama and the Recession

I was reading a few hubs this afternoon and came across one (read here) that spoke about the Obama approving the Troubled Assets Relief Program aka as the T.A.R.P. Bailout. My response was this:

• "My personal opinion is that no matter whom the President is at this point in time, they are not going to be able to change the world overnight. Whoever is in office is going to go through the trial and error phases just like many things in life. I am not afraid of "the great depression" or this recession. I am a believer in hope, faith and God. My focus is to fulfill my purpose and not worry about judging who is wrong and who is right. I am concerned with the fact that many believe Obama is our only hope to change things. He should not be idolized."

Unfortunately, I believe a lot of people are putting too much hope and faith in Obama. He is not the answer to our problems in this world. Our Father in Heaven is the only man to change this world when you really look at it. Placing that type of pressure on Obama is unrealistic. As Christians who are we to judge what is right and what is wrong? The reality is we are not in any one's shoes but our own. And more importantly, we are not God. If you are a believer in Christ and our Father, then you are praying for God to inspire our President to do what is right. And what is right is what will help Americans as a whole; not just one political party, ethnicity, gender, city, town or country. Times are hard because sin is increasing. No one is perfect and we do not have to be because God loves us perfectly for who we are as long as we believe. Times are hard because people become greedy and are out for themselves and themselves only. Our purpose in life is to follow God's path. Only you and He can know what that is. Where is every one's values? Like the rapper T.I. said, in so many words, "we are piss poor morally." Where are our morals? Why are so many of us complaining about our society but not contributing? What is complaining going to accomplish? Nothing. Simply nothing at all.

I voted for Obama and I believe that his election as President has many benefits but people must know that it is not okay to idolize him.
